Watchmen on the Wall

Gate Watchers Gospel Center is a Spirit-filled church family in Hagerstown, Maryland, led by Pastor Reuben Engemise and his wife, Apostle Osla Engemise. We are a house of prayer and a house of the Word — a place where people from every walk of life come to meet Jesus, find healing and freedom, and discover the purpose God has placed on their lives.

Every Sunday and Wednesday our sanctuary fills with heartfelt worship, fervent prayer, and the uncompromised preaching of the gospel. We rejoice as new believers go down into the waters of baptism, we pray for one another by name, and we carry the good news beyond our walls and into the streets of our city. Whether you are taking your very first steps of faith or have walked with God for many years, there is a seat saved for you here.

Our name comes from Ezekiel 3:17, where God tells the prophet, “I have made thee a watchman.” In ancient cities, watchmen stood at the gates and on the walls — awake while others slept, the first to see danger and the first to announce good news. That is our calling: to keep watch in prayer, to hear the Word from God’s mouth, and to faithfully carry it to our community.

As a Pentecostal church, we expect God to move. Our services are full of heartfelt worship, Spirit-led prayer, and bold preaching — and our doors are open to everyone. Whatever your story, you’ll find a family here that will pray with you, believe with you, and walk with you.
